Dogon

Rare antique storage cabinets from Dogon country, Mali. Traditionally, these cabinets were used by local healers for storing local medicine but their unique design make it an interior designer must have.

Each cabinet is detailed inscriptions carved into its surface, depicting crocodile and/or other abstract artistic representations. 

This is truly a unique piece sure to garner intrigue in any living space that can be used for storage or enjoyed as part of your home art collection.

Fun fact:

Dogon culture is said to be famous for astronomy. According to centuries old Dogon folklore, the star Sirius has a companion star,  Sirius B which is invisible to the eye. Sirius B wasn't even discovered by modern scientists till Galileo invented the telescope  and wasn't even photographed till 1970.
