A vintage replica of the infamous Benin bronze from modern day Nigeria. Like most West African "bronzes" the piece is actually made of copper alloyed with other metals using the ancient lost wax technique.
The headdress here suggests a crown of sorts. The facial features also point to scarification, a feature still present in modern day West Africa.
There is so much history surrounding these bronzes, they are sure to add character and mystique to any home.
